Summary

Philip SheldrakeI am a Chartered Engineer, Founder and Partner of Influence Crowd LLP, and Main Board Director of Intellect. My expertise spans business strategy, IT and Web strategy, engineering and technology consultancy, public relations and social Web analytics.

I am forging a new consumer electronics industry alliance to be launched 2010, and lead the Influence Scorecard initiative.

Racepoint Group

I co-founded Fuse PR, and Fuse was acquired by Racepoint in 2006, becoming the European HQ. I was Director of Digital Strategies for Racepoint Group until June 2009.

Racepoint Group is a part of W2 Group, a global marketing services ecosystem founded by industry thought leader Larry Weber, and organised to help Marketing Directors in their new role as builders of communities and content aggregators. Monitor Clipper Partners invested $30 million in W2 in November 2007.

The Social Web Analytics eBook 2008

I published the ebook 1st July 2008, and it was downloaded 35,000 times in the first 12 months. You can find it at www.socialwebanalytics.com.

OnOneMap

Launched 4th August 2005, OnOneMap was the UK’s first and leading property search engine map. It was also Europe’s first Google Maps mashup. As Managing Director, my role encompassed service definition, product testing, public relations and visitor growth. OnOneMap attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors a month and was sold to a competitor, November 2008.

Nochex

Nochex is Europe’s first email money service, allowing money to be emailed from anyone to anyone, and the UK’s leading independent provider of secure online card payments. The service acquired over 250,000 members in the first two years and members send £m’s per month – amazing growth for a service that started with no customer base, brand equity or advertising investment.

As CEO, highlights included taking a ‘dotcom’ to profitability, growing it to become the largest non-$US service of its kind at the time, and staying more popular on eBay UK than BillPoint (eBay’s own payment service prior to their PayPal acquisition).

More career info

I am an elected Main Board Director of Intellect from 2009 to 2012, and previously from 2005 to 2008. I also chair Intellect’s Convergence Conversation.

I am consulting to the Regional Internet Registry, the RIPE NCC, on the definition and establishment of new information services for the collection, analysis and presentation of data relating to the worldwide performance of the Internet.

Prior to founding Fuse PR I was an internal business consultant (Industrial Engineering Manager) for a unit of Mars Incorporated. The highlight of my career at Mars was leading my unit’s efforts in winning Management Today’s Best Process Factory Award 1998.

Other info

I graduated from The University of Nottingham in Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Management. I am a Chartered member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (formerly the IEE) and the Institute of Directors.

I lived my formative years in Norfolk. Since then I have lived in Nottingham, Peterborough, Huddersfield, Leeds and now London.
